Successful Online Sellers – Natasha Newton
Posted by onHi there Natasha! Tell us about yourself and how you got into art.
I’m a full-time artist and illustrator from Suffolk, England. I can’t really remember a time when I didn’t draw or paint. Even when I was very young I always seemed to be creating something. I remember the excitement of receiving colouring books and huge packs of felt-tip pens as presents – to me, these were the best presents ever! I also think I’ve always had a bit of an entrepreneurial spirit. I remember making bookmarks and little gift tags and so on and trying to sell them to relatives. I also used to design and make a little newspaper called ‘Newton News’ – I’m sure there must still be a copy floating around somewhere, but it’s probably terribly embarrassing!
I think I was destined to be an artist. I really can’t imagine doing anything else, and nor would I want to.
Inspiration strikes – Collage
Posted by onWith the recent scrapbooking trends, it is no suprise that collage is making a comeback. It straddles art and craft and gives really quite unique results if you take the time to seek out unusual materials. All you need is a good eye for colour, texture and composition -and some decent glue!
Here are some collaged beauties from deviantART to inspire and motivate you:
Discovering deviantART – Birds
Posted by onYes, yes, I am obsessed with birds. I can’t help it – I think Spring brings it on! However it seems I am not the only one – have a look at these beauties and long may the bird invasion continue!
Discovering deviantART – Springtime!

Discovering deviantART – Valentines day
Posted by onHello all! I’m Molly, otherwise known as Tiny Pretty Things, and I’ll be blogging inspiration from far and wide! I can’t say when or how often, I’m like the inspiration ninja, striking when you least expect it. Remember I am writing these articles for you so let me know if there’s any way I can improve.
For the time being I shall be introducing you to the wonderful Artisan Crafts gallery on deviantART.com. I have been a member for a long time now, and I am always finding wonderful new artists I wish to share!
As today is Valentines (well, it was an hour ago) I thought I’d go with the topic of LOVE. So enjoy the eye candy!
Happy New Year!
Posted by onThe vast majority of my friends and family recieved presents from Coriandr, and every single one of them loved them!
Before I go what’s planned for Coriandr this year, I want to give a heartfelt thanks to all the sellers that joined Coriandr in 2008. Launching what until late Oct was a personal project was a scary thing, but the support I’ve received has been great! More than anything I’d like to thank those who have shown Coriandr a huge amount of patience because (despite the occasional “we” slipping out) Coriandr is a self-funded, one-man-band…
Here’s to a fantastic 2009!
Oh, the shame!
Posted by onCan we try to forget the gap between this entry and the last? I definitely have feelings of guilt, and I don’t even have an exciting reason why I’ve not blogged. I haven’t been swimming with dolphins or studying rare creatures in the amazon, I’ve just been a little busy…
Anyway, I was exercising my stumbleupon account this morning (which is an excellent way to find new stuff on the internet and waste an entire day) and found some nice “how-to”s on Instructables; a pretty cool concrete lamp, a great geometric lamp, and an etched glass table. However, the best of all has to be how to build your own furnace! I’m going to give it a go before new year and see if I can’t make something pretty for the site!
Walter goes-a-rambling

Meet Walter. He likes abseiling and rhubarb crumble, and isn’t one bit shy about making friends.
Paper toys have to be my favourite thing right now. I love the idea that anyone with a printer, a pair of scissors, and some glue can make some really cool toys in no time at all. If you’ve not seen it yet, check out Paper Forest, plenty of papery goodness to keep you occupied!
