Improving Coriandr’s search

Over the last week we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to improve Coriandr’s search. Our aim is simple enough;

“make it easier to find the right things, quicker.”

As a marketplace, our opportunity to provide a great shopping experience starts with the search. The idea that gangs of buyers could be roaming the vaults of Coriandr, lost and alone, unable to find the one item that would complete them, is a very sad thing indeed! So much depends on the search doing it’s job well.

So, what are the plans?

• Make it easier to search. We’re going to be making some alterations to the way the search page looks and behaves. None of the existing search criteria will go, but the ease with which you can search for keywords, add tags, and generally browse through all the items on offer will be vastly improved. › Continue reading

Coriandr goes live!

With a small fanfare and a celebratory cup of tea, Coriandr opened it’s doors to the big wide world on Monday!

It’s taken lots of hard work to get here, and now the moment has come we’re really excited to see how the art and craft community reponds to what we’re building. Right now we’re getting our marketing bits and pieces together so we can start shouting about Coriandr to the whole world! Tell your friends, tell your neighbours, tell your postman!

October’s here, where’s Coriandr?!

We’ve been working really hard to get things ready for launch over the past few weeks, and things are nearly ready. When this whole project started a year ago, there was much less competition and certainly fewer expectations, so I really want to make sure everything looks and works great before Coriandr opens up the whole world. 

So when will we open up? Well, later today I’m hoping to open Coriandr up to all those crafters who have pre-registered. Over the coming week we’ll fix any issues the pre-registered crafters find, and hopefully we’ll be ready to open our doors on the 10th October!

Calling all crafters!

Our launch month is looming and there’s much to do, but it’s all for nothing without some handmade prettiness! We need to hear from any crafters interested in selling online, to make sure Coriandr’s shelves aren’t bare when we go live in October.

To show our appreciation, anyone that joins before launch will not only get free listings during beta, but won’t be charged any commission for a month! Also, join early and we’ll give you special access to the site so you can setup shop and get everything ready and waiting for your buyers when we launch in October!

Coriandr is an online marketplace for handmade goodies; it costs nothing to join, nothing to become a seller, nothing to run your shop, and nothing to list an item (during beta). The only cost is a 5% commission when you make a sale.
